Hello, my name is Kathy Byrnes. I graduated from St. John’s University in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science in Education and a minor in French. I started teaching that same year at Annunciation Catholic School in North Carolina. My first years of teaching were in third grade.
I moved back to New York in 1976 and obtained my Master’s degree from SUNY at Stony Brook. I then secured a middle school teaching position at St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic School and taught for five years. In 1988, I moved to Colorado and started teaching at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School in Wheat Ridge. I taught for about three years and then became an assistant principal in 1991. I attended the University of Phoenix and obtained my principal’s license there. I took over as principal at Saints Peter and Paul in 1993. I became the principal at St. Louis Catholic School in 2013. I love teaching and being a principal! I have truly been blessed over the years to have been a part of our Catholic school system across the country.
When not at the school, I love spending time with my family, reading, writing, and I have been known to play a few rounds of Words with Friends. I also love the beach and going on beach vacations!
My husband and I have two wonderful sons and four adorable grandchildren. I am thankful for the many blessings in my life!
